How do players get traded and why?

Today we are going to talk about how players get traded in the NBA and why they get traded. Players can get

traded by asking for one or you can get traded by the front office but trades are harder than you think. First

you have to see if you have enough money as a team to even get a player. You can’t just exchange players

how you want. The money has to match up. Players can get traded in the off season at any time but when

the season starts the last trades are made before all star break starts which is February 18. Why players get

traded is maybe because they don’t fit the team scheme or style of play. Some players aren’t good anymore

or don’t bring value to the team so they trade them. When trades happen it’s never based on feelings and if

somebody has got traded because of how they feel about the person is very rare. Even though players ask for

a trade the front office can deny the trade if they feel like they are not gaining anything from the trade or

they just don’t wanna let you go so they don’t trade you. The only way you can play a part in a trade is if

you have a  no trade clause. A no trade clause is a player having the right to veto any trade in which he is involved in.A player wants this to control where they go in a trade. To

get a no trade clause you have to aleast have at least 8 years in the league and 4 years with your current team.

  1. This post informed me of the how and why NBA players get traded. The post tells us that first you have to have somewhat of a equivalent exchange when trading players. It also helps readers better understand what a no trade clause is, and how players can us it to their advantage when getting traded.
